The Theory Behind my Writing

Keep Writing

It should never be believed that the writing process is one where the writer will be comfortable. Growth is derived from the grueling process of pushing yourself past a perceived limit. Even if you are not sure about what you want to write or know how to write it, keep writing

1st Claim about Writing

Be Skillful

The way that we compose our work will play a huge role in how credible and clear we appear to our audience. We want to make meaningful and purposeful rhetorical choices that show we have put thought behind what we are saying. Doing so, will go a long way in ensuring that we are not just being clear but that we are coming from a position of credibility.

2nd Claim about Writing.

Know Yourself

We can discover so much about ourselves through our writing. Are you unsure about how you feel about any particular topic? Then write. Write about it for as long as you can and you might be surprised by what you discover. Your mind is an abstract spread of thoughts and emotions, a metaphysical realm that exists within your mind. Writing turns that metaphysical land into a reality that can be shared. Or kept to yourself.

3rd Claim about Writing

Writing Heals

Writing has been shown to be an effective form of therapy. With the existence of structured writing therapy and its use by some mental health professionals to help treat individuals suffering from anxiety disorders and even PTSD, we know that there is power behind navigating our thoughts and translating them into words. Whenever we feel that we need some respite from the turmoil of everyday life, we should write. We should let every ounce of frustration, concern, or negative emotion out. We should let it out so that we can better understand what we are going through and how we can cope.
